About the CFCCC Pilot Awards Program

The objectives of the CFCCC Pilot Awards Program are to increase the number of extramural peer-reviewed collaborative grant awards and support the development of investigator-initiated early phase clinical trial protocols by clinical investigators. Pilot projects, particularly interventional trials and advance novel diagnostic or screening technologies, therapeutic molecules or devices, and bio-behavioral interventions from bench-to-bedside that advance research cancer control, population sciences and pediatric cancers, are given special consideration.

Team Funds

Each year, UCI academic departments, divisions and units take part in the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge (ACC) by creating teams of cancer research trainees. These teams help raise awareness and funds for pilot studies and early-phase clinical trials that support cancer research at the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC).
